Meet Precious

Age: Approximately 5 years old
Breed: Shepherd/Boxer mix
Weight: 50 lbs, with a healthy goal of approximately 60–65 lbs

Precious has already been through more than any dog should ever have to endure. She was forgotten in a backyard for nearly a month without food, and when she was rescued, she was completely emaciated. At just 50 pounds, she has a long way to go before she reaches a healthy weight, but what she has shown us from the very beginning is something we can't teach: an incredible will to live.

Despite having so little for so long, Precious has remained incredibly sweet. She is good with other dogs and has a gentle, kind nature. She can be shy with people at first, which is completely understandable given everything she has experienced, but she opens up quickly once she realizes she is safe.

Precious is so lucky to have made it out, and we feel just as lucky to have her. Her strength and determination have completely captured our hearts. Now it is our turn to make sure she never has to wonder where her next meal is, whether she is safe, or whether someone cares about her.

Precious deserves a life filled with good food, soft beds, gentle hands, companionship, and more love than she knows what to do with. We are committed to showering her with that love for the rest of her life.
